Fresh Foods Products Quality Guarantee & Return Policy

We stand behind the quality of every product that we sell. If you are not completely satisfied with the quality of your purchase, simply return the product to our store within 30 days along with your receipt and we will gladly replace the product, or refund your purchase price.

Fresh Foods Returns for Quality Issues:

Items returned will be refunded by method paid in the amount of the purchase price of the product.
(Debit card payments will be refunded as cash, credit card payments will be refunded back onto the credit card, and checks will be refunded as cash [if exceeding $10.00 refund will be issued via store gift card]).

  • If no receipt is present, we will look up your purchase via Stauffers Signature Rewards ID.
  • If no receipt and no Stauffers Signature Rewards ID, returns will be made at the discretion of store management, along with a Photo ID and completion of a return form.
  • If no product, returns will be made at the discretion of store management, along with a Photo ID and completion of a return form.

Gift Cards, Books, Magazines, Newspapers and Pharmacy Prescriptions may not be returned or exchanged.

Fresh Foods Returns Not Related to Quality Issues:

We will allow returns for products that are in their original, unopened packages. Simply return the product to the store along with your receipt within 30 days of your purchase and we will gladly refund your purchase price.

Bulk Foods, Bakery Items, Bread, Rolls, Hot Foods, any Refrigerated and Frozen Products, Gift Cards, Books, Magazines, Newspapers and Pharmacy Prescriptions may not be returned or exchanged.

Online Return Policy:

Online returns are only accepted for quality issues. Items returned will be refunded by method paid in the amount of the purchase price of the product.

Fresh Foods Coupon Policy

We will gladly redeem manufacturers coupons and Stauffers coupons!

Only one coupon per item may be redeemed.

No product substitutions, no competitor coupons, or competitor’s manufacturers coupons redeemed.
We do not accept coupons valued greater than the product value.

Internet Coupon Policy – We will gladly redeem coupons that have been printed from the internet. No internet coupons for FREE products. No internet coupons with a value greater than $5.00.

Double Coupon Policy – We will double coupons up to $1.00 value. (unless coupon indicates DO NOT DOUBLE)

Example: for Coupons 10 – 50 cents, we will double the value.

For coupons $1.00 and greater, we will redeem at face value. We will double up to 5 of the same coupons.
Additional coupons will not be doubled, including: Digital coupons, Stauffers coupons, Coupons containing the word “Free”, and Milk coupons (law prohibits doubling).

We will enforce the manufacturers coupon requirement as printed on coupon including limiting like coupons on the same day.

Stauffers Fresh Foods Coupon Exclusions – Certain products are not eligible for coupons or promotions. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Gift cards (Stauffers and all other retailers)
  • Home & Garden product purchases (e.g. greeting cards, clothing, plants, flowers)
  • Fluid milk (including cream, heavy cream, half-and-half, etc.)
  • Postage stamps
  • Pharmacy prescriptions
  • Under-the-Tent events
  • Any other items prohibited by law

Supermarket Scan Price Guarantee

We guarantee to our customers that the price charged by our scanning registers on any scanned food item is correct.

Questions on your receipt? Please bring your receipt to Customer Service.

  • If the price scanned is higher than the price on the price tag/sign, customer will be charged the price on the price tag/sign.
  • If the priced scanned is lower than the price on the price tag/sign, customer will be charged the scanned price on one (1) of the items and additional items will be charged at the price on the price tag/sign.
  • Shelf price includes displayed or posted price.

Rain Check Policy

Rain checks will be offered on all sale items except where indicated while supplies last. Rain checks are valid for 30 days.

BOGO Sale items will appear at half the original retail price when scanned at registers.

Food Safety Commitment

Our Commitment to You

At Stauffers of Kissel Hill, we are focused on food safety so that you can feel confident when shopping for your family. As soon as food is delivered, we check it for quality, freshness, and safety before it ever reaches our shelves. We monitor storage and cooking temperatures, preparation methods, cleaning and sanitizing procedures, dates, and allergen labeling.

Our Food Safety Team

It takes a team of people working hard every day behind the scenes to keep you safe. By law, you only need one person with a Manager Food Safety Certificate to be available at all times during operation of a licensed food facility. If that person is not on site, they must be available by phone. Although this is the minimum standard, it is not enough for Stauffers, a locally-owned business serving customers, friends, and family members throughout our community.

All of our Fresh Foods Chief Operating Officers, Buyers, General Managers and Assistant General Managers receive Manager Food Safety Certificates. And we go above and beyond that . . . each of our Department Managers, Assistant Department Managers, Chefs and Prep Cooks is certified in food safety. Plus, we provide additional training for every team member who handles food requiring time and temperature control for safety (TCS). In addition to professionally training our staff, we include food safety performance as a critical component of performance evaluations.

Internal Inspections

Although the Department of Agriculture visits our stores for a full inspection annually, we perform our own monthly self-inspections, conducted by a person who has the Managers Food Safety Certification, using the Department of Agriculture standards. We have our refrigeration and freezer equipment wired to a central monitoring system. This extensive system allows us to keep track of all case temperatures so that, if there is ever a problem, we can react quickly, ensuring all of our food is protected and remains safe. During our inspections, we manually take temperatures of our foods using a digital thermometer. Food temperatures are also taken daily in all of our preparation areas to ensure our handmade products are cooked and cooled safely. The internal inspection is very rigorous, exceeding the minimum standards established by the state. Following inspections, the Food Safety team reviews the results to ensure all of our written standards are being followed and that they are achieving the desired outcomes. All of this work is performed behind the scenes as we strive to consistently provide safe food for our customers.

Food Recall

When we receive notifications alerting us to recalls, we immediately investigate each item to determine if we carry it, and, if so, it is removed from the shelf within 30 minutes. We have developed a communication plan to get the instructions to our stores to empty the shelves and hold or destroy the product, based on the manufacturer’s instructions. We place signs where the item was located so you are aware of the recall. In addition, Customer Service will have an information sheet on any product we have had to pull from our shelves due to a potential problem. If you hear of a recall on the radio or TV, and you may have purchased the product, just stop at Customer Service and we will be happy to share the information with you and provide a refund for any recalled product purchased from our store.

Fresh Food Stores Pet Policy

Stauffers of Kissel Hill allows service animals and pets on our premises according to guidelines within the Fresh Foods and Home & Garden Lines of Business. A pet is defined as any domesticated animal kept for companionship.

Fresh Foods – Pets are not permitted in the Fresh Foods stores due to cleanliness, food safety codes and practices. Customers who violate this policy will be required to immediately remove their pet from the building. The only exceptions are “Service Animals,” which are permitted.

Merchandise returns are accepted at all Stauffers stores. Returns must be accompanied by a receipt. Items returned will be refunded by the method paid in the amount of the purchase price of the product.

  • Trees, Shrubs – Guaranteed for 1 year
  • Perennials – Guaranteed until Nov. 1st of the year of purchase
  • House Plants, Tropical Plants & Trees – 1 Month from Purchase
  • Annual Flowers & Water Plants -1 Week from Purchase
  • Hanging Baskets – 1 Week from Purchase
  • Lawn & Garden Goods – 1 Month from Purchase
  • Boutique & Fashion Accessories – 1 Month from Purchase with original

Plants are eligible for a one-time replacement or refund.

  • Items returned without receipt will be refunded at the lowest recent selling price as a Stauffers gift card
  • Clearance Items – Non-Refundable
  • Contractor plant purchases are not guaranteed
  • Trees, Shrubs and Perennials must be removed from their original container and planted in order to be guaranteed

Home & Garden Stores Pet Policy

Stauffers of Kissel Hill allows service animals and pets on our premises according to guidelines within the Fresh Foods and Home & Garden Lines of Business. A pet is defined as any domesticated animal kept for companionship.

Home & Garden Store – Pets are permitted in the Home & Garden Stores except in climate-controlled buildings. Pets must be leashed in the care and control of the owner at all times. If the type of pet does not allow for a leash, the pet must be held and in the control of the owner. A Manager may request an owner to remove their pet from the retail store if that pet is causing discomfort to another customer or causing damage or disruption in the retail store. Service animals are permitted.
